AATL Spring Season Information Available

Good Afternoon AATL!

My name is Kristin Risher and I am very excited to be your new Local League Coordinator!  I have been playing tennis for roughly ten years.  I will be making some changes to various processes over the course of the next year, but will assist in any way that I can to make this transition as smooth as possible.  First, as a PDF attachment, you will find our spring newsletter detailing pertinent dates for all of our spring season.  The first major change to our league system is that we will now create teams (receive team numbers) through Tennislink.  The instructions on how to do this are in the newsletter.  Many of you may already be familiar with how to create a team in Tennislink as this is how our counterparts in Augusta, GA create teams.  So, beginning now, you will no longer have to send me a captain’s form in order to request a team number.  This will  alleviate several headaches.  First, you will automatically receive your team number and show up on the roster for your team!  Also, you will be  able to see how many other teams have  been registered in your specific flight.  The down side to this is that there is a fee of $5 to create a team.  However, I will be working with our board to come up with some creative ways and perks so that you as a captain do not feel burdened by the $5 fee.

If at anytime you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me through this email address (aikentennisleague@gmail.com).  Please do not send any AATL business to my personal email address.  Also, I would  prefer that you email questions first rather than text or call me.  I have a busy schedule with my day job and  17 month old daughter.  I will make time to be prompt with any and all emails.

Next, I would like  to tell you about an important rule change for this coming year, from USTA Southern.  As of 2018, there will no longer be a residency requirement for our teams!  This means that you can have as many out of state players as you want on your team!  This should alleviate many of our  smaller flights having trouble to fill teams with the appropriate amount of SC players.  The only requirement for our teams will be that they must have home courts in South Carolina within our League area.

Lastly, please utilize our website, aikentennis.net, and our facebook page to also stay aware of upcoming dates.  The website will be updated in the coming days with next year’s information.  Please read the newsletter and if you have any questions or trouble opening the attachment let me know.

Thank you so much for playing in Aiken Leagues and for being  captains!

P.S.  If  I send several emails in the next week, please be patient as I am learning.
